The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established by Act of Parliament No. 11 of 1995, and started its operations on 1st July 1996. In carrying out its statutory functions, TRA is regulated by law, and is responsible for administering impartially various taxes of the Central Government. Over the years of its existence the Authority has been conducting its business guided by five-years Corporate Plans. The plan has aided the Authority to have a common strategic direction in the course of discharging its mandate. This approach of managing corporate affairs has enabled the Authority to achieve remarkable performance in the mobilization of the Government revenue.
TRA core values are a handful of moral boundaries within which TRA operates.
They define TRA’s personality and are ethical standards by which TRA would be measured.
The values are a commitment to the stakeholders and are incorporated into all actions taken by the organization.

NB: (i) For all cadres who will be interviewing in Zanzibar, an interview will be held at
Maruhubi Tourism College - Unguja, Zanzibar
(ii) For cadres of TAX MANAGEMENT OFFICER II, CUSTOMS OFFICER II, TAX
MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II, CUSTOMS ASSISTANT II and RECORDS MANAGEMENT
ASSISTANT II will conduct interviews in Dodoma, the interview is scheduled to take place 'LECTURE
ROOMS 'COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCE' at the University of Dodoma (UDOM)
(iii) For other Cadres they will conduct interviews as directed in the previous Announcement of
called for an interview
