The Isamilo International School is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Computer Science Teacher to join its Secondary School team
The Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Computer Science lessons at Key Stage 3, Cambridge IGCSE, and where appropriate, Cambridge International AS & A Level.
The teacher will inspire students to develop computational thinking, programming skills, digital literacy, and problem-solving abilities while preparing them for outstanding academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons in line with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Teach Computer Science across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and AS & A Level as required.
- Provide reports on student progress using various assessment strategies in Monitoring
- Differentiate teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Integrate modern educational technology into teaching and learning.
- Participate fully in school life, including extracurricular activities, meetings, school events, and professional development.
- A Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies
- The Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student success
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- And in the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Education (Computer Science) or a related field
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- The experience to teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum, particularly IGCSE Computer Science.
- Excellent subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to protecting children and promoting well-being
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- A master’s degree in a relevant field.
- With experience teaching Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer
- With experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Also have experience in robotics, coding clubs, or STEM enrichment programs.
