Job Overview:
The Company Rafiki Retreat is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge General Manager to oversee all administrative and operational aspects of the lodge.

Key Responsibilities:
Lodge General Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all administrative and operational activities at the lodge.
- A Developing and implementing marketing strategies to enhance the lodge’s visibility and attract new clients.
- A Prepare and manage budgets and ensure operational activities are cost-effective and maintain high service standards
- Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve operational efficiency and the lodge’s overall performance.
- Building and fostering meaningful relationships with guests and stakeholders.
- Leading, managing, and motivating the on-site team.
- A Establish and promote environmentally friendly initiatives that are consistent with the hotel's vision for sustainable tourism.
- The Plan and allocate work accurately according to the capabilities and strengths of employees.
- A Maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- A Promote business growth that will increase customer acquisition by strengthening the guest house market presence..
Requirements
An Applicants:
- The Demonstrated experience developing strategies to increase lodge visibility, expand the client base, and improve overall business performance.
- A minimum of five years of experience in hotel, tourism, or hospitality management.
- The Strong knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry, particularly within the Tanzanian market
- A commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
- Strong organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving abilities.
- The Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate employees while serving as a positive role model
- An Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with people.
The Ambitious self-starters with strong industry knowledge and proven capabilities are also encouraged to apply, even if they do not meet the five-year experience requirement
An Language Requirements
- A Proficiency in at least one additional European language is preferred, particularly German.
- The Knowledge of Swahili will be considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English is essential.
Eligibility
The Rafiki Retreat welcomes applications from both Tanzanian nationals and international candidates. Non-resident applicants are encouraged to apply.
Suitable candidates who do not currently hold a Tanzanian work permit, the lodge is open to negotiating sponsorship and assisting with the work permit application process.
Compensation:
Salary will be negotiated based on:

- Candidate’s ability to achieve agreed performance targets focused on maximizing the lodge’s revenue and overall business performance.
